Thanu Khan is born and brought up in Barmer district of Rajasthan. He sings folk songs and plays traditional Rajasthani instruments including khartal. Thanu has a very jolly nature and he is a funny boy. Thanu follows Islam and belongs to the Manganiyar community in Rajasthan. Singing is a tradition of his family form many generations and they have been singing to earn a livelihood. He learned music from his father, Nihal Khan and other family members. He follows his Nana Ji, Ustad Sadik Khan as his Role Model.

Thanu Khan is singing folk music from his very childhood as singing is the only way to earn for his family from generations back. He learned music from his father, Nihal Khan and other family members. He follows his Nana Ji, Ustad Sadik Khan as his Role Model. He started singing in streets and local stage shows along with his father at a very young age.
In 2019 Thanu gave auditions for Superstar Singer on Sony TV and got selected among top 16. During the show, he was noticed as a funny and jolly boy who made everybody laugh with his funniest things. He was placed in Captain Salman Ali’s Team during Superstar Singer show. Thanu also appeared on Kapil Sharma Show along with few other contestants of Superstar Singer. During the show, he did a lot of fun with Kapil Sharma.
