There was a time when Blacks were not treated equally to white people in the USA. Their financial condition was also not so good. According to Brookings Institution: In 1940, 60 percent of employed black women worked as domestic servants.
But with time they proved themselves and today 60 percent of black people hold white-collar jobs in the United States.
Around 14.2% of the total U.S. population is Black as of 2020. Even though Blacks are in Minority in the United States yet we have seen numerous Black Beauty queens in the past years.
Miss USA first started in 1952, yet it takes 38 years to see the first African American black woman to become Miss USA. But in the past 10 years, we have seen that Black women are dominating Miss USA Beauty Pageant.
In this article, we will share with you a list of all black Miss USA winners by year wise till now. We also added some “biracial” Miss USA Winners who have one parent white and one parent black.
Carole Gist – 1990

Carole Gist is the first African American black woman to win the Miss USA title. Gist first won the title of Miss Michigan USA and went on to win the Miss USA crown on March 2, 1990, in Wichita, Kansas. As Miss USA, she represented the United States at the Miss Universe 1990 competition and finished as 1st Runner-up.
