About Balraj Syal’s Family
Balraj Syal’s Father and Mother died at a very early age when Balraj was a little Kid. He was grown up by his Uncle and Aunt (Chacha and Chachi). Balraj is from Jalandhar, Punjab and he has a lower Middle-class family background. His two real sisters, two cousin brothers and one cousin sister, all of them are grown up in the same house.
Early Life
During his younger age, Balraj thought to become IAS or IPS officer, but there is something else in his destiny. After completing his 12th class, he left the studies for two years as the financial condition of his family was not good. During these two years, Balraj did many works like selling clothes, selling Invertors etc. to earn money for his family. After two years, his friend’s parents support him to study further.
Professional Life
During his Graduation, he came to know that students who participate in extracurricular activities will get concession in fees. So he starts participating in college fests and programs. He also did a job as a gym instructor during his Graduation to earn money for his study. He was very intelligent in studies but he gave preference to his art of acting. During this time Balraj’s Acting guru, Amit Sharma told him about Auditions of Comedy program on MH1 Punjabi Channel. Balraj got selected and reached the finale of that show and thus his journey of Stand-up comedian started.
He also participated in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge but was rejected in the first episode. Two years later, he won “Best Stand-up Comedian Trophy” in “Laughter Ke Phatke” show on Star One. After that, he won “Comedy Ka Maha Muqabla” on Star Plus. Even after winning these shows he struggled a lot while staying in Mumbai. He sold his Car which he bought from prize money of the shows that he had won. During this period Balraj did script writing for Movies and even acted in many Movies. And finally, he got his biggest break of life that is “Entertainment Ki Raat” on colors TV. He was also featured many times on Big Boss Season-11. Even Salman Khan appreciated his talent.
